Hello, everyone! We're fast approaching the anticipated fulfillment time, and I have several notes for you.
First, please double-check that your mailing address is correct. Delivery will go more smoothly with an accurate shipping address!
Next, an unexpected thing has happened -- I'm going back to Japan sooner than expected! This is a good thing, but it has, um, disrupted my July schedule. There's a chance fulfillment, especially physical fulfillment, will ship at the end of the month.
The end of July is still technically July, but I don't want to skate on a technicality. So I'm going to try to send you all a fun bonus as a thank you for your anticipated patience, if necessary.
If I have your physical mailing address, you're all set. If you pledged for digital only, I do not have a physical mailing address for you. If you're willing, you can send me a mailing address via private message here on Kickstarter.
URGENT: I must receive this mailing address by 12:00 Eastern on 22 June! This is a hard deadline imposed by my travel schedule and physical preparation requirements. Please send your mailing address promptly.

One of the stretch goals we unlocked was a Kumano Kodō travelogue chat, so be sure to save the date:

The Kumano Kodō (old road of Kumano) is a pilgrimage network of trails similar to the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and in fact the two are the only UNESCO recognized World Heritage trails. For over a thousand years, the Kumano route has led emperors, samurai, peasants, and tourists to holy sites and stunning nature.
Join three of us from Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and Tōkyō to talk about the amazing history of the Kumano Road, our reminiscences of hiking it, and how that experience influenced the writing of characters on that path 800 years ago.

I've put up some cool add-ons, including a set of enamel pins featuring cute kitsune reading their favorite books. Please check them out!
I wanted to also add the Kitsune-Tsuki t-shirts, but the BackerKit system did not give me a way to indicate a limited number of styles/colors/sizes, and these are indeed limited! Some sizes and colors are already sold out on my website, but you can still get others here (2 styles):

Next week, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey quickly, since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. The survey will arrive via email, so watch for it!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. (This closing date is on your survey.)
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or by requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at
